For the first time since 2023, Nelly and Jessica Korda are competing together in an LPGA Tour event. This marks Jessica's return after a hiatus due to a chronic back issue and the birth of her son, Greyson, in 2024. Speaking at a pre-tournament press conference, Jessica, despite managing ongoing back pain, expressed joy in returning to the tour, albeit with a part-time schedule.
"I don't think I'll ever not be in pain," said Jessica. "It's just more about managing it with time off. I haven't played much golf and didn't push to be here. If it worked out, great. If not, I'm content with my life." She also noted that the extended break has led to no concrete expectations for the tournament.
Meanwhile, Nelly has enjoyed continued success, including eight more LPGA victories since their last joint event. She looks forward to her sister's presence, highlighting a greater sense of comfort off the golf course.
The sisters have been placed on opposite sides of the draw. Nelly will begin early, sharing rounds with Lexi Thompson and Hyo Joo Kim, while Jessica partners with Austin Ernst and Hailee Cooper, leading to much walking for their supporters.
