Thomas Pieters has ruled out a return to the PGA Tour and says he would consider retiring if LIV Golf were to fold.
The 34-year-old, who joined LIV in 2023 and plays for 4Aces GC led by Dustin Johnson, revealed he was ready to walk away from the game when recent rumours about the league’s future began to circulate.
“I was ready to quit straight away,” Pieters said on the Dan on Golf Show podcast.
While other LIV players are reportedly exploring a return to the PGA Tour, Pieters made his stance clear.
“I will never go back. I wasn’t happy there – it just didn’t suit me.”
With LIV Golf’s long-term future still uncertain, Pieters instead points toward Europe as a potential next step, with the DP World Tour offering a closer connection to home.
