Phil Mickelson has withdrawn from the PGA Championship 2026, extending his absence from competitive golf.
Mickelson was initially included in the field for next week’s major at Aronimink Golf Club, but later pulled out due to a personal health matter involving his family. Max Homa will take his place in the field.
The LIV Golf player has competed only once in 2026, at LIV Golf South Africa in March, and has since missed several events, including the Masters Tournament.
Just one day before withdrawing from the PGA Championship, it was also confirmed that Mickelson would miss another LIV Golf event in Virginia this week. Scott Vincent will once again step in as a replacement for HyFlyers GC.
It remains unclear when Mickelson will return to competition.
