Jake Knapp has withdrawn from the PGA Championship 2026 as his thumb injury continues to keep him out of competition.
It marks the third consecutive major event the 31-year-old has missed after also withdrawing from the Signature Events at Doral and Quail Hollow.
Knapp has been one of the PGA TOUR’s standout performers in 2026, recording five top-10 finishes in nine starts. He currently ranks second on TOUR in scoring average and third in strokes gained total.
The injury is a major setback during what has otherwise been the best stretch of Knapp’s PGA TOUR career. Tom Hoge replaces him in the field.
