Henley storms back to win in playoff

Three straight birdies set up a dramatic finish as Russell Henley claimed his sixth PGA TOUR title.

Russell Henley produced a stunning late charge to win the Charles Schwab Challenge 2026, defeating Eric Cole in a playoff at Colonial.

Henley birdied each of his final three holes in regulation to catch Cole at 12 under par before returning to the 18th for sudden death. There, he stuffed his approach to five feet and converted the birdie putt to secure victory.

“I’m still kind of speechless,” Henley said afterward. “It’s hard to believe I’m sitting here.”

Cole led for most of the final round and appeared destined for a maiden PGA TOUR title, but Henley’s late surge proved decisive. The win marks the sixth PGA TOUR title of Henley’s career and another highlight in what has been one of the strongest seasons of his career.
