Aronimink Golf Club hosts this year’s PGA Championship 2026 — exactly 100 years after the club settled on its current site outside Philadelphia.

Here are five things to know ahead of the week:

1. A course built for majors
Aronimink is the first venue to host all three rotating PGA of America major championships: the PGA Championship, Senior PGA Championship and KPMG Women’s PGA Championship.

2. Donald Ross called it his masterpiece
The course was designed in 1926 by legendary architect Donald Ross, who later famously said:
"I intended to make this my masterpiece."

3. Gary Player won here in 1962
The last time the PGA Championship visited Aronimink, Gary Player captured the first Wanamaker Trophy of his career.

4. Restored for the modern game
Ahead of the 2018 BMW Championship, Gil Hanse restored the course to revive Ross’ original vision. The event was won by Keegan Bradley after a playoff against Justin Rose.

5. The name has historic roots
The name Aronimink comes from a Lenape tribal chief who once lived on the land where the club’s original clubhouse stood.
