Aaron Rai made history by winning the PGA Championship 2026 at Aronimink Golf Club, becoming the first Englishman in 107 years to lift the Wanamaker Trophy.
Rai closed with a brilliant final-round 65 to finish the championship at nine under par, ahead of some of the biggest names in golf including Rory McIlroy, Jon Rahm, Justin Thomas and Ludvig Ã…berg.
Starting the final round two shots behind, Rai took control during the back nine. An eagle putt at the ninth sparked his charge before further birdies at 11, 13 and 16 gave him command of the championship.
At the par-4 17th, Rai produced one of the shots of the week by holing a 68-foot birdie putt before sealing victory with a par at the final hole.
The win makes Rai only the second Englishman ever to win the PGA Championship, following Jim Barnes, who went back-to-back in the late 1910s.
